Leopard Experience
Yesterday evening I succumbed to the Leopard temptation, and picked up a family pack from a local Apple store. This is the first time I ever tried to upgrade a Mac software. I upgraded an old Mac Mini and my 10 month old MBP. In both cases, the upgrade went extremely well. All software and settings that I had prior to upgrade are working flawlessly after the upgrade.
Safari has improved significantly between the beta and the final version. The beta used to crash at least once a day. The final version has not crashed yet. The only complaint I have with Safari is that it does not let me change the default search engine. Mail has gotten better as well.
Time Machine is a breeze to use. What impressed me most was not how the backup part was taken addressed, but how simple restoration is. In the past I tried a few backup utils, but I was never disciplined since those tools lacked friendly restoration steps. Time Machine attacked that problem very well.
I am a big fan of virtual desktops, and have been using for a long time on Solaris, Linux, Windows, and even Mac. Spaces works flawlessly and I was able to customize it to suit the key bindings I was used to with the now defunct VirtueDesktops.
The 3D dock looks cool, but why does Leopard resorts a flat dock when it is placed on the sides?
I am a happy Leopard user now
