Finally, I said good bye to Movable Type and switched to Wordpress. It took a while to figure out the right steps to migrate from Movable Type to Wordpress so that I won’t lose the traffic from old links. After looking at various options discussed in Importing from Movable Type to WordPress, I wrote a small PHP script to generate .htaccess redirect rules for all my posts, and wrote the output of that script to the .htaccess file. I still need to figure out a way to enable comment notifications and subscriptions on my Slicehost account. I am pleased with my experience. I guess I am late to discover how simple/better Wordpress is, when compared to Movable Type 4.
Good bye Movable Type

LOL. I was actually wondering if I should move to MT :)
Why do you say wordpress is better?
I find MT4 themes too complicated, and there were not enough good themes I could quickly adopt. At a personal level, I’m not a Perl geek.
