WSDL’s guarantee loose-coupling?

I Just came across this post by Jeff Schneider. He makes an interesting claim that the number of WSDLs reflects the success of an SOA initiative. Hmm. That is a stretch. WSDLs don’t guarantee loose-coupling. Application loose coupling needs more than network-level distribution/isolation.

How could you possibly misinterpret my blog post so badly?

Feel free to read:

Sorry if you feel that I misrepresented your blog, and I appreciate the link to your article on coupling and SOA. When I read your post, the statement about “that’s great - show me the WSDL’S” struck me the most. Unfortunately, in the real world, coupling does occur no matter what kind of remoting technique one chooses. So the presence or absence of a WSDL, IMO, may be necessary for loose-coupling, but not sufficient.
