Web Services != SOA

Just came across this comment by Anne Thomas Manes in the SOA mailing list.

Although the JWSDP is certainly an adequate platform for building web services, it’s important to note that building web services does not by any means guarantee that you will achieve SOA. SOA is a style of design in which application functionality is implemented as shared reusable services. It requires a different design approach than traditional application-centric projects. There’s lots of writing available on the subject. I suggest you start with a Google search.

Web Services != SOA. No need to say more.

Like, a prayer is a way, to reach the salvation of god.
So, Web Services is a way, to achieve SOA.

Thw whole idea behind web services is SOA……….If even I am correct :-)
