My name is Subbu Allamaraju, and this is my personal blog. I’m a Principal Member of Technical Staff in the eBay’s platform engineering team. Prior to that I was at Yahoo! and BEA Systems.
Please do not attribute anything I write here to my current or former employers.
At eBay, I created ql.io, a SQL and JSON inspired DSL for HTTP and a node.js based runtime to process scripts written in that DSL. The idea of ql.io is to simplify cost of aggregating data from one or more HTTP APIs (or “web services”).
As the creator, product owner, and key developer of ql.io at eBay, I’m responsible for improving the way HTTP is consumed by apps and pave way for near-real-time and conversational end user experiences.
See Github for the source and ql.io for demos, examples, and docs.
One of my key contributions at Yahoo! was a compilation of many techniques for effective and scalable use Web protocols for producing and consuming data through web services. This subsequently lead to my "RESTful Web Services Cookbook", published by O’Reilly in March 2010.
